This presentation will focus on the delivery of two projects in WA. The lessons learned and pit falls to avoid.

Key Learnings:

The importance of Executive sponsors and having a detailed project plan. Key tips for preparing and managing budgets and a procurement plan. Staff recruitment and training, Communication plan for key stake holders,

What Went Well:

Risk register. Stakeholder engagement and collaboration. Cost driven decisions, progress tracking and hitting milestones.

What Didn’t Go Well:

Day-to-day operations impacting key staff availability to focus on the project tasks. Internal project communications and the distance to travel to a regional project. Design limitations and the contractual Fine Print “NAC” Late Changes

Continuous Improvement:

Project Team representation, responsibilities and resources. Design review. Preopening dummy run.

Lessons Learnt:

Tips to managing building variations. The importance of maintaining an Issues log and lessons learnt register during construction, commissioning, defect liability period and when operational. Project team what we had versus what we needed.
